Why This Exists

Most AI-assisted publishing workflows transform existing content directly into social media posts. In practice, this often produces accurate summaries but weak editorial decisions, making it difficult to consistently articulate professional thinking, communicate active explorations, promote emerging products and create meaningful conversations.

This experiment explores whether editorial judgement itself can become an explicit reasoning workflow before any content is generated.

What Was Built

• An Editorial Reasoning workflow that explicitly separates selection from generation.
• A context-building pipeline that combines Weekly Learning, Ideas to Life experiments and products, and professional portfolio content.
• A structured Editorial Brief that records thesis, evidence, tensions, professional themes, publishing objectives and decision rationale.
• An editorial history that preserves reasoning, rejected alternatives and narrative evolution over time.

Key Trade-offs

• Editorial quality was prioritised over workflow simplicity by introducing an explicit reasoning stage before content generation.
• The system deliberately relies on authoritative published sources rather than manually maintained summaries, accepting the additional context-building effort to reduce drift and duplication.
• The workflow optimises for professional positioning and long-term knowledge compounding rather than maximising short-term engagement metrics.

Current Status

This experiment is currently in the Validating phase.

The reasoning workflow has been implemented and successfully generated its first editorial briefs. The next stage is to validate the quality of editorial decisions across multiple Weekly Learnings, observe whether the resulting publications better communicate ongoing explorations and professional thinking, and refine the reasoning model based on evidence.

Validation will be considered complete when the workflow consistently demonstrates stronger editorial selection than direct document-to-post generation and the pattern can be reused independently of any specific publishing channel.
